Housing Options Service

The housing options service gives general advice on a wide range of options for renting and buying property. Staff will also be able to refer customers to specialist services such as mediation, debt prevention and home improvements and adaptations that can support people to stay in their existing homes.

Living Well, Feeling safe

The living well, feeling safe  service offers a range of advice and services for older people through a partnership of local organisations including the local authority, Age UK Dudley, West Midlands Police, Victim Support and West Midlands Fire Service.

The range of services includes

  • Door access systems and key safes
  • Home security and personal alarms
  • Crime prevention and victim support
  • Fire safety advice and smoke alarms
  • Home improvement and adaptations
  • Small tasks service


Note that many of these services can be accessed by younger people with disabilities as well.

Supporting people

The 'supporting people' programme helps vulnerable people to learn independent living skills such as how to manage budgets, eat well and stay healthy and either find suitable housing or help them to keep their existing housing if they are risk of being evicted or repossessed. To access this support you can contact any of the relevant service providers or contact the Supporting People Team on 01384 814647.

Dudley Telecare Service

Take a look at the range of alarms and equipment that the Dudley Telecare Service has on offer to help people to live safely, securely and independently in their own homes.

Dudley Energy Advice Line

Call 01384 817086 for information and advice on keeping your house warm and your gas and electricity bills low as well as advice on grants, tariff switching and social tariffs for low income families.

‘Fix-a-Home’ Listed Traders Scheme

Trading Standards and Age Concern Dudley have a list of trades people that they believe are reliable and will do a good job. This includes tradespeople who will fit alarms and other aids to home security too. However do check with the Living Well, Feeling Safe Team first to see if they can assist you.

Home Improvement Service

Our Home Improvement Service offers assistance to homeowners and private rental tenants with adapting or improving your home to meet particular needs. You can also contact them to access Energy Efficiency Schemes.
