Dudley Autism Partnership

The aim of the Dudley Autism Partnership is to raise the profile of adults with autism and Aspergers syndrome and to ensure that better services are delivered to meet their needs. The group also oversees the implementation of the Autism Strategy for the Borough. Please see related documents to the right - Autism Strategy September 2011 and Autism Strategy Action Plan December 2013.

The group is attended by representatives of Directorate of Adult, Community and Housing Services, Dudley Primary Care Trust, Children's Services, service users, carers and voluntary/independent sector.

The Autistic Spectrum Condition Team

The Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) Team provides assessment of social care need and support, subject to eligibility criteria, for people aged 18+ affected by high-functioning autism and their carers. For more information please see related document below - Autistic spectrum conditions.

Please see related documents to the right for further information.

Autism Outreach

The Autism Outreach Service supports pupils with a diagnosis of Autism, Aspergers Syndrome and Autistic Spectrum Disorder in mainstream schools.

On-line awareness training

To help people learn more about autism the council has developed an on-line training programme.

The on-line training is free and can be undertaken at any time. The step-by-step guide will explain what autism is and how it affects people’s behaviour and offers suggestions on how to deal with situations where a person is presenting difficult behaviour.

There are two modules – About Autism and Helping People with Autism - and each module takes about 30 minutes to complete.

Consultation

If you have an autism spectrum condition we would like to hear from you.

Information about your experiences will help us to plan our services and enable us to raise awareness about autism with people who work in other services such as the police, health and education.
