Safeguarding is about protecting children, young people and adults at risk from abuse or neglect. Abuse is not normal and never ok. Being abused means a person is being deliberately hurt by someone else. If you are concerned about a child, young person or adult report it to Dudley Safeguarding.

Dudley Telecare Service

Dudley Telecare Service

The Dudley telecare service is Dudley Council’s emergency telecare call service. It operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A range of Telecare solutions can be installed within the home by us and these are linked to our emergency monitoring service.

Assisted Living Centre

Assisted Living Centre

The Dudley Assisted Living Centre is an important resource for all disabled people and their carers living in Dudley.  It has a range of equipment to assist daily living. The centre enables demonstrations and trial use of equipment within every day settings such as kitchen, bedroom or bathroom.

Help at home

Help at home

If you need practical help in the home with your personal care needs such as getting up and going to bed, washing and dressing, help with toileting and preparing meals, you will need to contact adult social care services for advice and, if appropriate, a referral for assessment.

Enabling Community Support Service

Enabling Community Support Service

The enabling community support service provides a range of practical help, advice and support to older people, aged 60 plus, in their homes. It is intended for people who live at home but who need a little extra support on a short term basis, to live independently, happily and successfully.

Disabled Facilities Grant

Disabled facilities grants

Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs) are available following an assessment and recommendation by an Occupational Therapist.  DFGs are normally the means by which adaptations in privately owned property are funded (the housing department funds adaptations in council owned property).

Dudley falls prevention

Dudley falls prevention

Dudley Falls Prevention is a one stop shop for anything related to falls. The service works to help anyone over eighteen to avoid falls, maintain strength, balance and mobility, as well as help anyone who has already taken a fall  to quickly regain their mobility, confidence and independence and to avoid any further falls. Lots of help and support is on offer from a range of professionals from adult social care, GPs and Dudley Group of Hospitals.

Living Well, Feeling Safe

The Living well, feeling safe scheme is a partnership scheme, offering older people living across Dudley borough, practical safety, security and wellbeing advice, in their own home. The partnership scheme is made up of the council, together with other local organisations.

Dementia Gateways

Dementia Gateways

Dudley borough residents are benefiting from a new approach to the care and treatment of people with dementia, as well as support given to carers and family members. Anyone worried about dementia, diagnosed with the condition, their families or carers can ask for help from the borough's three dementia gateways.
