How can you join it?

Contact your area Childminder Quality Support Officer, who will arrange a visit to discuss how the network works, how it can benefit you and the commitment you will need to make as a childminder.

  • a Childminder Quality Support Officer will arrange a pre-assessment visit to fully explain the assessment process. The CQSO will arrange a convenient time to come and assess you over a period of weeks

  • the number of weeks varies depending on how much of the assessment form you can cover independently and how many visits are needed

  • when the assessment is completed you will be informed if you have been accepted onto the network immediately or if further experience, knowledge or training needs to be acquired for membership at tier one, for this you will have an action plan to work through enabling you to meet the required standard. Childminders can then work towards second and third tiers of membership as they gain knowledge and experience

  • Dudley Childminding Network has been designed by Dudley Childcare Strategy Team to promote a commitment to high quality child care and good practice from childminders operating in the borough through a robust process of assessment and ongoing support from the team
