Setting up full day care

What is full day care?

Full day care is care provided at any time (day or night) for children under eight on premises other than domestic premises for more than a total of two hours a day.

Day care providers need to be registered with Ofsted.

Providers must normally register on the Ofsted Early Years Register if they want to care for children from birth to five.

They must register on the compulsory part of the Childcare Register if they want to care for children from five to seven.
