Horticultural Standards

The Green Care section is responsible for the general operational management and day-to-day maintenance of the various parks and open spaces distributed across the borough. Each park is visited regularly by a dedicated team of staff who pride themselves in delivering a high standard of horticultural maintenance. Mobile gardening teams regularly visit sites to ensure that the defined standards are maintained on our parks. The gardening staff ensure that the quality and range of horticultural features are all maintained appropriately and that standards of cleanliness and health and safety are achieved. The range of horticultural features maintained includes the following areas:

  •  grass areas

  •  litter collection

  •  flower, rose and shrub beds

  •  hedges

  •  playgrounds

  •  outdoor sports facilities
