Friends of Wren's Nest (FOWN)

The Friends of the Wren's Nest  (FOWN) were established in January 2006 to support the work of the Wren's Nest Warden service through on-site practical support as well as a social group for peopled with an interest in the site.

The group over the years have been active in important events on the reserve, including the 50th anniversary celebrations in September 2006, hosting a party for the Wildlife Watch group to celebrate the unveiling of their commemorative mosaic artwork and also raising funds for publications and activities on site.

The Friends group pride themselves on being a very sociable group with regular events and meetings to suit all tastes.  As well as fundraising, meetings and events, the Friends group are keenly active and involved in habitat management works as well such as tree planting and hedgelaying each winter.

As part of the Friends role in supporting the wardens and making the Nature reserve a nice place to visit, they have arranged a regular litter pick.

The group meeting on the first Tuesday of every month at 10am and work around the site for around two hours.
