Travellers site

The Council owns and manages a permanent site for Gypsies and Travellers, known as the Oak Lane Traveller Site, Kingswinford.

The site contains 19 pitches for caravans, 18 of which are for rent with the remaining pitch being occupied by a full time residential warden.

Applying for a pitch on Oak Lane

There is a waiting list for pitches. When a pitch becomes available, the vacant pitch is allocated in line with the Traveller Site Allocation Policy and is based on awarding points to household circumstance based around greatest need. Any travellers interested in applying for a vacant pitch can do so by completing the site application form. Forms are available on the link below, by post or by calling into our offices, where staff will be able to assist with completion of the form. Site residents are liable for rent, council tax and utility charges and have access to the same services that are available to any other resident in the borough.

The council is also responsible for dealing with unauthorised Gypsy and Traveller encampments on Council owned land throughout the borough. We also provide advice to private owners of land affected by unauthorised traveller encampments.

Please see related documents to the right to view the Traveller Site Application.
