Update on your home your standards
A commitment on how Dudley Council will endeavour to manage council homes and estates is now in place.
Following consultation with tenants, the council has put in place a number of local offers to achieve national housing standards that are set by the Tenant Services Authority - see local offers.
The council will look to achieve all five of the national standards that apply to local authorities through its own localised offers and standards which have been agreed with tenants.
The five national standards are: tenant involvement and empowerment, home, tenancy, neighbourhood and community and value for money.
Just one example of one of the many local offers being put in place by the council is that the council will work with tenants, residents and partner agencies to make estates places where people want to live now and in the future.
The council would look to achieve this offer in a number of ways, by inspecting communal areas every eight weeks, arranging community events to increase pride in local areas and actively seeking the views of local residents on improvements that can be made to the environment of estates.
Now the council’s housing commitment to tenants has been agreed, it will continue to work with tenants about how it ensures it delivers against its commitment.
Council tenants can read about the performance of their housing service and how we have performed against the local offers in our new tenants annual report.
