Teenage Book Selection Project

The Teenage Book Selection Project involved a number of young people from schools across the Borough.  The young people, with the guidance of library staff, were invited to choose books appropriate for people in their age group, as well as learning how to manage budgets and develop relations with library staff.   All five Dudley Libraries localities were allocated some money to spend.

Young people from Greenhill youth group visited Long Lane Library and chose a selection of titles to add to the library stock. 

Wordsley Guides visited Wordsley Library chose titles from a new series of books, all of which are are now available to borrow.  At Gornal library, members of the local Youth group are currently in the process of selecting titles for the Library.

Students at Red Hill school spent time choosing books for Stourbridge library using school computers.  Seventeen students visited Stourbridge library to view the vast range of books which are now available to borrow.

Books for Dudley Library were chosen by members of 'The Rockies Youth Group' from Russells Hall.  Seven young people chose adult and children titles, including a selection of talking books on CD.
