Woodside Library Link

Public Consultation - 11 December 2017 to 4 February 2018

Dudley Council is proposing to re-provide the services currently offered at Woodside Library Link in 2018. The proposal has been reached due to a variety of reasons highlighted below:

  • The use of the library link has fallen in the last six months and the number of reception staff has reduced within the school.

  • Both the council and the school believe that the location is no longer suitable for a library link service. This is due to changes in regulations about safety that we have to adhere to.

  • The need for an entrance system to the foyer where the Library Link is situated means that the library link has become less accessible to the public and is not compatible with the ethos of the Public Library Service.

Alternative sites for the library link have been explored but an alternative has not been identified. We are keen to keep the service in the area and are interested in hearing any suggestions for an alternative site from the local community. If we can identify an alternative site, we are looking for people who can volunteer some time to help us to enable access to the library link service.

We are consulting with the users of the library link and members of the community over the next eight weeks to find out how we can re-provide the services that you use there. We would be grateful if you could complete the survey.

The consultation period will run from 11 December 2017 to 4 February 2018.
