These sites will help you to prepare your CV, search for jobs and prepare for interviews.  There is also information on learning new skills, volunteering and career development.  Your local library has many books on job searching and CV writing, and you can also search our library catalogue.

  • Gov. UK Jobseekers Pages
    Use the Jobcentre Plus job search to find vacancies.  You will also find information about moving from benefits into work, and your rights at work.


Talent Match Black Country is a voluntary engagement programme which will act as a platform to increase optimism, motivation and confidence, enabling you to grow and move forward. It is aimed at people aged 18-24 who have been out of work for a year.



  • National Careers Service
    Provides information, advice and guidance to help you make decisions on learning, training and work opportunities.  Useful tools include a Skills Health Check, a CV Builder, information on redundancy, returning to work after having children or as an older worker and working overseas.

  • Dudley’s Employability Team
    Provide information and advice about learning and work. They can help you with job searching, writing CVs, completing job applications, interview skills and more.
    This website also has a list of all the work clubs in the Dudley borough, some of which are held in libraries.

  • Brierley Hill Project
    A community project that offers  targeted life support and coaching services. They run a drop-in service to get job search help, CV writing support, free internet and one-off crisis support.

  • Dudley Adult Learning
    Search for a local course to enhance your employability skills.

  • Jobsite - Be My Interviewer
    Be My Interviewer is for anyone that wants to be successful at interviews.
    Use interactive videos to practice your interview technique with the help of leading industry professionals.  You will gain valuable and practical advice to prepare you for the toughest questions and interview scenarios you are likely to face.

  • My Work Search: Free registration by signing up from any Library computer. Once registered you will then be able to use the service from any computer.

  • Learn Direct
    LearnDirect offers a wide range of courses and qualifications including English, maths,  IT, employability skills and vocational qualifications. Some courses are free depending on your eligibility.

  • National Apprenticeship Service
    The website of the National Apprenticeship Service has information for apprentices, employers and parents, plus useful resources and links.

  • The WHAT? centre, Stourbridge
    Local service for young people between the ages of 13 and 25, offering advice on employment and training opportunities. The centre also helps with issues around housing and homelessness, benefits, budgeting, debt and legal referrals.
