Support for Parents, Children and Young People

In August 2014, the Department for Education published a guide for parents and carers. This guide is for parents and carers of children and young people aged 0-25 years who have special educational needs (SEN) or a disability. This guide describes how the new system that supports children and young people with SEN or disabilities, and parents, is intended to work.

Special educational needs and disability- A guide for parents and carers

Engaging with Parents - Dudley’s Approach

Dudley Local Authority has had a good record of working with parents to develop provision both formally and informally and also in mediating and resolving issues causing concern.

The local authority makes every effort to minimise barriers to inclusion and, wherever possible, to offer flexible and personalised approaches to meeting needs.

The SEN Reforms have provided an opportunity to extend partnership working with SENDIASS (previously Dudley Parent Partnership).
