Road Safety for Post 16 Students

If you are aged 16 and above and interested in pre-driver training or any other aspects of road safety, then we can help you.

We provide support to young adults with route planning, travel training and ways of getting around, including public transport, cycling (see related document), motorcycling and driving.

Students aged 16  -19 undertaking courses in the Dudley Borough can receive FREE cycle training. Please contact us for more details.

Pre driver education

Pre-driver courses are available to people aged between 15 and 20. These cover subjects such as choosing an instructor, theory and practical tests, pass plus, costs of owning a car and hazard perception. These courses are tailored to suit peoples' requirements where appropriate. For an example of a typical course please look at the related document at the bottom of this page.

Independent Travel Training

Travel Training is a structured programme designed to teach students how to travel independently, and where appropriate use public transport. It is available to selected students aged 16 – 19 years studying at any one of the borough’s colleges or sixth forms.

The scheme is aimed at those students wishing to become independent travellers, but who, for one reason or another lack the skills or confidence to do so. Please see related document below.
