Dudley Council's Local Development Scheme (LDS)

The Local Development Scheme (LDS) is the Council’s three-year project plan that identifies which local plan documents will be produced by the Council’s Planning Policy Team, in what order and by when.

The Council needs to review its planning documents at regular intervals to assess whether some or all of them need updating. The LDS therefore also provides information on the timetabling of a number of existing approved planning documents which need to be reviewed. The LDS also lists those planning policy documents which have already been adopted and are used as current working documents.

The LDS provides:–

  • brief summaries of the content of individual planning policy documents;

  • timescales for their progression;

  • information showing at what stage they are currently at, and

  • their anticipated date of adoption.

The Council has had an adopted LDS since July 2005. An updated version took effect on the 14th January 2015. This updated LDS covers the period 2015 – 2018.

The Council will seek to update the LDS annually. The tables within it, detailing the progression of the planning policy documents, will be updated on a monthly basis.

 A copy of the most recent LDS can be found below.
