Unitary Development Plan - Adoption

The Dudley Borough Unitary Development Plan (UDP) was adopted in October 2005 and sets out the future of land use within the Borough up until 2011.  This is Dudley’s second UDP and it replaces the previous plan which was approved in November 1993 and covered the period 1991-2001.
The UDP is currently undergoing publication and an electronic version will be made available from this website in the near future.  Alternatively, paper copies will shortly be available to purchase from the planning policy team or to view at the Council’s main planning office at 3 St. James Road, Dudley and at all main libraries.  Further details will be made available upon publication.
The way that the planning system operates is changing.  New legislation now requires the UDP to be updated and replaced over the next few years with a new plan called the Local Development Framework (LDF).  Dudley MBC has set out a schedule of the policies in the UDP which have been ‘saved’ under the new planning system and the new local development documents which will be produced under the LDF.  This can be found in our Local Development Scheme (LDS).  Further details of these documents can be found by following the Local Development Framework link in the menu on the left.
