Environmental Protection, Energy and Waste Policies

The aim of these policies is to reduce the environmental impact of development and the use of finite resources through regulating activities that could cause pollution of some kind.

EP1 BAD NEIGHBOUR INDUSTRY. This prevents development that would adversely affect residential properties and minimise the effects of existing problem industries.

EP2 WATER PROTECTION.

EP3 DEVELOPMENT IN FLOODPLAINS.

EP4 AIR QUALITY.

EP5 LIGHT POLLUTION. To avoid light spillage and adverse affect on neighbours.

EP6 NOISE POLLUTION.

EP7 WASTE AND DEVELOPMENT. Reduce, reuse, recover and dispose of waste in the order determined by this hierarchy.

EP8 WASTE DISPOSAL FACILITIES.

EP9 INDUSTRIAL WASTE: Sets out locational criteria for disposal facilities.

EP10 RENEWABLE ENERGY.
