Historic Environment Policies
The aim is to protect and enhance Dudley's historic and architectural heritage, both in relation to distinctive areas and individual sites and buildings.
There follows a number of policies that give appropriate protection from development and seek to improve and enhance the appearance and setting of historic buildings and areas. They also set out where necessary, the criteria under which changes or loss may be considered.
- HE8 ARCHAEOLOGY AND INFORMATION. This sets out the information to be supplied by applicants to enable proper consideration of development proposals affecting archaeological remains.
- HE9 SCHEDULED ANCIENT MONUMENTS AND OTHER SITES OF NATIONAL IMPORTANCE.
- HE10 SITES OF REGIONAL IMPORTANCE (ANCIENT MONUMENTS).
- HE11 ARCHAEOLOGY AND PRESERVATION. Should be in situ or, where this is unreasonable, through appropriate recording.
These early documents relate to the preparation of the Dudley Unitary Development Plan and chart the stages and position of policy in the Plan at each stage of the review. They are intended for reference only and the content does not necessarily reflect the current state of play.
