Road Safety and Travel Awareness
The Road Safety and Travel Awareness Team carry out a statutory responsibility under the 1988 Road Traffic Act to deliver a program of road safety education, training and publicity.
Our aims are
- to help reduce the number and severity of road traffic casualties
- to raise awareness of the way people travel.
We encourage people to examine their current mode of travel and consider its effect on the environment and their own health and well being.

Winter Driving
Dudley's Road Safety Partnership will be distributing winter driving packs to help motorists prepare for travelling over the winter months.
The packs include information and advice on coping with severe weather conditions, planning journeys and what to do if problems occur once journeys are underway. A free ice scraper is also included to help drivers keep their windows clear, especially important as the weather gets colder.
Packs will be distributed by the police, fire service and Dudley Council.

School Travelwise
A new School Travelwise website has been developed to help you:
- Find out where your local schools are located.
- Get bespoke journey planning with printable maps and timetables for walking, bus, road and rail routes.
- Access to mapping information on transport facilities such as: pedestrian crossing points, local bus stops,walking bus routes, cycle routes, car parks and park and stride locations.
- Find details on school activities, clubs and events occurring within your local area
- Find out how to travel in a more sustainable, healthy and environmentally friendly way
