In March 2009 Dudley Council asked 6,000 randomly selected Dudley households about their views on the street scene, roads, climate change and priorities for future spending.
The document at the bottom of the page summarises the findings of the consultation process, residents’ priorities, the actions that the council is going to take and ways that people can make changes themselves.
Street Cleansing
We keep roads, pavements, public car parks and shopping areas clean of litter, debris and larger items of rubbish that have been dumped. Key service areas include:
- Respond to flooding on the highway
- Litter control
- Dog fouling
- Mechanical carriageway sweeping
- Mechanical precinct and footway sweeping
- Dumping and fly tipping removal
- Removal and disposal of dead animals
- Graffiti removal steam cleaning service
- Public convenience cleaning service
Street Care and Maintenance
The Council looks after the roads and footways in the borough. The ongoing maintenance programs and repair works ensure that getting around the borough is as easy as possible. Our work includes:

Parking in Dudley
The Council is responsible for the day to day running of the Authority's car parks This includes the collection of revenue from the pay and display car parks, parking enforcement, maintenance and improvement of the car park stock.
In addition we are responsible for on-street parking enforcement. Through civil parking enforcement, the council aims to tackle the congestion caused by illegal and inconsiderate parking which causes problems in our towns, whether you’re driving, cycling, on public transport or on foot.

Road Safety & Travel Awareness
The aims of the Road Safety & Travel Awareness Team are to help reduce the number and severity of road traffic casualties and to raise awareness of the way people travel.
We encourage people to examine their current mode of travel and consider its effect on the environment and their health and wellbeing.
