A controlled parking zone is an area where priority in the use of available parking space at designated times is given to residents through a permit system. Many Councils charge for these permits, to cover administrative costs.
The most appropriate types of location for a controlled parking zone could be in residential areas where homes do not have the benefit of off-street parking facilities. These might be:-
In town centres
On the outskirts of shopping areas
Near to large educational or medical establishments
Near to places of entertainment.
This service is not yet available from Dudley Council, but might become a service in future years.
At this stage, Council officers would be pleased to receive, and list, requests for residents parking zones.
