Road Safety for Post 16 Students

Much of our work with this age group looks at route planning, travel training and ways of getting around, including public transport, cycling (see related document), motorcycling and driving. If you are interested in pre-driver training or any other aspects of road safety for those aged 16 and above, you may find the web sites listed here useful.

What is Independent Travel Training?
A structured programme designed to teach students how to travel independently, and where appropriate use public transport.
 
We can offer support in learning to use public transport and in developing the necessary skills for safer independent travel.

Going to college or 6th form in the Dudley Borough?

Cycling
Students aged 16  -19 undertaking courses in the Dudley Borough can receive FREE cycle training and grants of £50  -£100 for cycling equipment. See the related document on this page for information
Pre driver education
Pre-driver courses are available to people aged between 15 and 20. These cover subjects like choosing an instructor, theory and practical tests, pass plus, costs of owning a car and hazard perception. These courses are tailored to suit peoples' requirements where appropriate. For an example of a typical course please look at the related document at the bottom of this page.
