Diamond Jubilee street parties and events

Hundreds of residents across the Dudley borough will be celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with street parties.

Dudley Council has approved 25 road closures following requests from residents to hold outdoor parties to mark the special occasion and sent gift packs to help get the party started.

There is also a series of events taking place across the borough to mark the jubilee.

London 2012

There's lots going on in Dudley to celebrate the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Major tourist attractions and main roads around Dudley will play host to the Olympic torch relay on Saturday 30 June.

Organisations, schools and local groups are holding a range of activities and events across the borough to mark this special occassion.

Big Book Fortnight 2012

A popular children’s author, a trio of funny women and a well-known fantasy writer will be amongst the novel acts at libraries during Big Book Fortnight. 

This year’s annual celebration of reading returns on May 19 and runs until June 2 across the Black Country.
