Home security and fire prevention advice will be offered to residents this autumn, as Dudley libraries host a series of safety sessions.
This Wednesday (26 September), Halesowen Library will welcome, PC Pete Aston from West Midlands Police to deliver a talk about home security, focusing on how to secure your home using locks, burglar alarms and CCTV.
The session will be held in the library’s Shenstone Theatre from 2pm to 4pm and on Tuesday 9 October from 7pm to 9pm.
PC Aston will also deliver talks at Lye Community Centre on Monday 1 October from 10.30am to 11.30am and Thursday 11 October from 7pm to 9pm.
In addition, Dudley Library will host a fire prevention session on Tuesday 30 October. Fire officer, Dave Hingley will be on hand from 1pm to 2pm to give residents advice on how to prevent fires, including the importance of fire alarms and fire escape plans.
Councillor Michael Evans, cabinet member for housing and libraries, said:
“Dudley Council is keen to ensure all residents have the latest advice necessary to keep them safe in their own homes. These sessions provide an ideal opportunity to speak to local officers and obtain first rate advice”.
