Parents are being advised a number of schools across the borough will be affected by the proposed teachers’ industrial action on Thursday(April 24).
A total 68 schools have so far indicated they could close fully or partially as a result of the national action.
John Freeman, director of children’s services at Dudley Council, said:
“Due to the proposed industrial action by the NUT on Thursday (April 24) a number of schools across the borough are affected by full or partial closure. Thirty eight schools have advised they will be fully closed with a further 30 affected by partial closure.
“Schools will be sending letters to parents informing them of any closures. If parents are unsure they are advised to ring the school the day before to check."
A total 38 schools have so far indicated they will fully close on Thursday. They are:
Brockmoor Primary, Brierley Hill; Brook Primary, Stourbridge; Hurst Green Primary, Halesowen; Mount Pleasant Primary, Brierley Hill; Newfield Park Primary, Halesowen; Red Hall Primary, Dudley; Cotwall End Primary, Dudley; Sledmere Primary, Dudley; Withymoor Primary, Brierley Hill; Belle Vue Primary, Stourbridge, Olive Hill Primary, Halesowen; Hawbush Primary, Brierley Hill; Northfield Road Primary, Dudley; Tenterfields Primary, Halesowen; Highgate Primary, Dudley; Kates Hill Community Primary, Dudley; Bramford Primary, Dudley; St Mary’s Catholic Primary, Brierley Hill; Netherton CE, The Sutton, Dudley; Blowers Green Primary, Dudley; Bishop Milner Catholic School, Dudley; Earls High School, Halesowen; Coseley School and Sports College, Coseley; Dormston School, Sedgley; Thorns Community College, Brierley Hill; High Arcal School, Sedgley; Hillcrest School and Community College, Dudley; Kingswinford School, Summerhill School, Kingswinford, Windsor High School, Halesowen; Crestwood School, Kingswinford; Caslon Primary, Halesowen; Rosewood School, Coseley; Abberley Street, Dudley; Cherry Treet Learning Centre, Dudley; Woodsetton Special School, Dudley; and The Mere Education Centre, Stourbridge.
A further 30 schools have warned they will be partially closed. They are:
Fairhaven Primary, Stourbridge; Ham Dingle Primary, Stourbridge; St Joseph’s RC Primary, Stourbridge, Dingle Primary, Kingswinford; Brierley Hill Primary, Church of the Ascension Primary, Kingswinford; Colley Lane Community Primary, Halesowen; Dudley Wood Primary, Dudley; Foxyards Primary, Tipton; Gig Mill Primary, Stourbridge; Howley Grange primary, Halesowen; Milking Bank Primary, Dudley; Oldswinford CE Primary, Stourbridge; Peters Hill Primary, Brierley Hill; Priory Primary, Dudley; Queen Victoria Primary, Dudley; Wallbrook Primary, Coseley; Wollescote Primary, Stourbridge; Castle High School, Dudley; Oldswinford Hospital, Stourbridge; Wordsley High, Stourbridge; Pedmore Technology College and Community School, Stourbridge; Ridgewood High, Stourbridge; Leasowes, Halesowen; Pens Meadow, Stourbridge; Netherton Park Children’s Centre, Dudley; Church of England School of St Edmund and St John, Dudley; Old Park School, Dudley; Alder Coppice, Dudley; and Amblecote Primary, Stourbridge.
Any parents who are unsure are urged to ring their schools the day before.
