30 - Bands urged to rock along to youth club

 

The Rock the Block sessions take place at Halesowen youth centre on the last Thursday of each month.

 

It gives local bands the opportunity to showcase their musical talents in one off gigs.

 

The young people at the centre are now looking for more bands from the Halesowen area to take part.

 

 

“We have had some great bands in the past but now we want more local musical talent to take part.”

 

The sessions are open to musicians aged 13 to 19. Free rehearsal space is also available ahead of the gigs, which run from 7.30-10pm.

 

Bands get to perform on the centre’s stage, with high tech sound and lighting, in front of an audience.
