Dudley Council’s Co-ordinator of the Safeguarding Children’s Board has raised £2,000 to help protect children.
Graham Tilby ran this year’s London Marathon on Sunday 13 April. He managed to finish the race in 4 hours 13 minutes and successfully raised £2,000. The money will go towards raising awareness about the risks posed to children and young people by internet and phone technologies. He ran on behalf of Dudley Children Safeguarding Board and the Saltmine Trust Hope 2008 Team. The cash will be used to fund a drama production and resource pack for schools to promote the positive aspects of new technologies and highlight the importance of online safety. The initiative is aimed at children in Years 4 to 8 and will be trialledduring the summer-term.
