Dudley residents who requested a postal vote for this year’s local council election are reminded to return them as soon as possible.
The deadline to register for a postal vote has now passed and vote forms will be sent to homes by next Friday (April 25).
Anyone who has missed the deadline and will be unable to get to their polling station on May 1 can still appoint someone to vote on their behalf as a proxy. New applications to vote by proxy must be received by 5 pm on Wednesday April 23.
Alison Mason, head of electoral services, said:
“We are currently issuing ballot papers to everyone who requested a postal vote and these should all be delivered by next Friday.
“We would advise people to return them as soon as possible to register their vote.”
Anyone who wants a proxy vote must apply to the electoral registration office at Kudos House, 3 Ednam Road, Dudley by 5 pm on Wednesday April 23.They can also call the election helpline on 01384 814740 or visit or www.dudley.gov.uk and navigate to the local elections 2008 pages.
