A new emergency number for contacting social workers in Dudley out of hours will go live next week.
From 5pm on August 26 Dudley’s out of hours emergency duty telephone number will change to 01384 818574.
There will be no change to the service provided and members of the public and professionals can contact the emergency duty team out of office hours if they have a concern regarding an adult or child who receives social care. The emergency team will still be available from 5pm-9am on weekdays and 24 hours a day during weekends and bank holidays.
Callers should note that when contacting the team they need to have available the details of the person they are calling about and a contact telephone number which social workers can call them back on.
If residents have an enquiry regarding adult social care during office hours (Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm) they can contact the council’s directorate of adult, community and housing services on 01384 815822. While enquiries on behalf of a child or young person under the age of 18 during office hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm) should be made to the council’s directorate of children’s services on 01384 814255.
