Organisers of this year’s Youth Awards have further extended their deadline in two categories.
Nominations can still be entered for young people aged 11 to 18 who have demonstrated exceptional bravery and courage or have contributed in some way to their school or college.
The deadline for both of these categories has now been extended to Monday 8 September at 10am.
Last year’s winner of bravery and courage was Cara Southall who returned to school within a few weeks of becoming a mum. Cara gained her GCSEs and is currently continuing her studies at Halesowen College.
The awards will be short-listed following the closing date and will culminate in an oscar-style celebration in October.
Councillor Liz Walker, cabinet member for children’s services, said:
“It is wonderful for young people who have made a big difference to other people to be recognised for their, often unseen, good work. Communities across the borough are benefiting from their contributions and the Dudley Youth Awards is a fitting way of rewarding them.”
Nomination forms are available from libraries, schools and youth centres can be downloaded from www.dudley.gov.uk on the giving young people a voice page or just google Dudley Youth Awards. The extended deadline for the above categories is 8 September at 10am.
