7 - Postcards from the Mayor of Dudley

Archived news release from 2008
Mayor

School children and community groups will now be able to find out more about the Mayor of Dudley with the launch of a new range of postcards.

Mayor Councillor Ray Burston will hand out the cards during his civic visits around the borough.

The cards have a picture of the mayor on one side and information about him on the other.

They have been designed to let people know about the mayor and his important civic role in Dudley.

Councillor Ray Burston, Mayor of Dudley, said:

“I hope people will find the cards helpful and informative about the civic work the mayor carries out. I’ve even had to sign a few for the youngsters which is always nice.”

The mayor is planning to hand out the cards to children on school visits and can also be sent to venues in advance to let organisers have useful information.

They also include information about his chosen charities in a bid to boost funds during his year in office. They are No Limits Community Project, which offers support to people across the borough who suffer from autism, including Asperger’s Syndrome, and Thank You which is made up of five armed forces charities. Anyone wanting to contribute to the charities can call 01384 815211.
