A fun day is being held at a Dudley park this Saturday to celebrate a host of improvements completed as part of the Liveability scheme.
Youngsters at Silver Jubilee Park in Coseley have plenty of opportunity to keep fit following the completion of a multi use games area and skate park. There is also a teen shelter for them to meet up in.
The improvements follow consultation with the local community by the friends of Silver Jubilee Park after the park scooped £79,485 from Dudley Council through the liveability scheme.
At the fun day on Saturday (August 16), which runs from noon to 6pm, there will be a fun fair, face painter, henna artist and music.
Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for environment and culture said:
“Dudley Council and the Friends have been working closely to bring these improvements to Silver Jubilee Park. I’m sure they will be extremely popular with youngsters in the area.”
Dudley Council was one of just 27 authorities across the country picked to share a slice of £89 million through the government’s Liveability Fund.
Its focus is on community involvement, empowering people to become champions for their parks.
