17 - Halesowen Leisure Centre will be dancing this Christmas

Archived news release from 2007

Halesowen Leisure Centre will be dancing this Christmas thanks to generous donations from West Midlands Police and Dudley Primary Care Trust.

The organisations donated a total of £17,000 to buy electronic dance mats for the centre in recognition of a membership discount, which allows their teams to use the council run facilities at a reduced cost.

The dance mats work through a specialised computer system and are expected to bring new groups and individuals in from all over the borough for dancing fun. The new sessions will begin in February.

Councillor Charles Fraser-Macnamara, cabinet member for leisure and culture, said:

“We were delighted to receive these kind donations, which are a great Christmas present for the leisure centre.

“Dudley Council is committed to providing a variety of leisure activities for people who live, work and play in the borough and the new mats will certainly enhance the great programme that we already offer.”

Anyone else who would like more information on activities at the leisure centre can call 01384 812800.
