Council housing tenants in Dudley can take advantage of an opportunity to join one of the authority’s three area housing panels.
Vacancies have arisen for council tenants in Dudley to join the area housing panels in Brierley Hill, Halesowen and Stourbridge.
Area housing panels meet on a regular basis, usually every other month. They discuss local housing issues and provide significant opportunities for tenants to work with councillors to review priorities, polices and performance relating to housing management in their areas.
Panel members are able to help influence the way the housing services are developed at a local level.
If any tenants living in Brierley Hill, Halesowen or Stourbridge are interested in becoming a panel member, and would like to know more, they should contact the tenant participation team on 01384 815168 or email participation@dudley.gov.uk.
There is a closing date of 11 January 2010 for applications to be considered.
Councillor David Simms, cabinet member for housing, said:
“Area panels allow our customers to have a say in the running of our housing services. They are an opportunity to influence policies and procedures for such things as tenancy conditions, anti social behaviour and community safety bids.
“The panels were originally set up in 2002 and have enabled tenants to be involved in the development of many initiatives since then.”
