The Central region has now switched from analogue to a much stronger digital signal and anyone who has not updated their system will have lost reception.
If you are having problems with individual televisions - you have to consider all of your equipment as each television has to be conntected (including 'portable' televisions).
Most existing analogue televisions can be easily converted by using a set top box and you can either make a one off payment or a monthly subscription - depending upon the level of service you want. You can receive your digital service via aerial, satellite, cable or broadband.
If you currently have digital television which is not provided via an aerial you should not have been affected by the changes eg Sky TV or Virgin. Digital TV gives you all your usual TV channels and access to many more such as BBC Three, ITV 2, Film4, and digital radio stations. Digital TV can also provide services such as subtitling and audio description for people with sight and hearing difficulties.
From Switchovers that have already occurred in the England, Digital UK have experienced the main issues being 'Retuning TV sets'. Please see below for how to retune you TV set. The Council will not be able to send out a contractor/engineer to retune your TV so you may need to get support from family members or friends.
