29 - Have your say on Stourbridge plans
Dudley Council is holding a public consultation on exciting proposals to revitalise Stourbridge town centre’s northern gateway.
People who shop, live, work and study in the town will be invited to have their say on the proposals, which include emphasising the crossing over the River Stour, upgrading Lower High Street subway and creating a town centre pocket park at the bottom of Lower High Street, throughout March.
The proposals will be on display at an exhibition under the town clock from Thursday 6 to Saturday 8 March. Staff will be on hand for discussion from 10am to 2pm on all three days.
There will also be an exhibition at Stourbridge Library throughout March and a presentation at Stourbridge Area Committee at Hob Green Primary School on Tuesday 10 March at 7pm. The proposals can also be viewed and commented upon at
www.dudley.gov.uk/stourbridge from 9am on Monday 3 March.
Councillor Malcolm Knowles, cabinet member for economic regeneration, said:
“These exciting proposals will help create an attractive and welcoming first impression to visitors accessing Stourbridge town centre from the north and will improve links with the historic canal side area.
“As the Stour bridge will emphasise where the town’s name comes from, I’m sure the public will want to have their say on this important, high impact project and I look forward to hearing and reading their comments.”
