Dudley Council’s environmental team is holding a special stand at the Cornbow shopping centre in Halesowen on Tuesday 19 February.
The stand, which will raise awareness of the council’s many key services including winter gritting, will be held from 12pm to 4pm.
During the event, which is being held at the Cornbow as part of the centre’s regular ‘Top Notch Tuesday’ series, residents will have the chance to find out more about Dudley Council’s environmental management services.
Topics are likely to include street lighting, street cleaning, litter picking, removing abandoned vehicles, maintaining parks and open spaces, collecting waste and recyclables, and winter safety.
Representatives from the highway maintenance team will be on hand to answer questions about travelling through Dudley during cold spells as well as road gritting. Children can also expect to be entertained with a fun colouring table, which the centre is providing.
Councillor Angus Adams, cabinet member for transportation, said:
“Many of the day to day things we take for granted such as road maintenance and street cleaning is provided through the hard work and dedication of our environmental management team.
“I’m delighted this event is being held to tell residents more about how we provide these key services and it will also give them an opportunity to give us valued feedback.”
The stall is being held as the first in a series of shopping centre visits and more dates will be confirmed later in the year. For more information on environmental management services visit www.dudley.gov.uk or call Dudley Council Plus on 01384 812345.
