Dudley’s Queen of Culture, Pat Wakelam is polishing her crown and practising her shimmy for International Women’s Week in March.
International Women’s Week is a global week of celebration, recognizing women’s achievements and ambitions.
Pat will be dropping into an event on Tuesday 4 March a Ladies Day in Lye, organized by The Perfect Harmony Women’s group and Dudley Council’s adult and community learning team. There will be stalls, activities and a chance to speak to a range of advisers. Pat is particularly pleased to be attending as her university thesis was on Charlotte Bronte and her positive portrayal of strong female characters.
There’ll be reflexology and massage, manicure, arts and craft sessions and exercise sessions including bollywood dance and an informal bellydancing session from the Queen of Culture herself.
Dudley Primary Care Trust, the fire service and careers advisers will also be on hand. The event runs from 11.30am to 2pm at Lye Community Centre, Cross Walks Road, Lye. For more information call Kathy on 01384 813960.
