11 - Highway works at Church Croft

Church Croft in Halesowen is to close for three days for resurfacing works and the construction of a new pedestrian refuge as part of the multi-million pound regeneration of the town.

The closure will take place between Wychbury Court and Queensway from February 18 to 21.

Work will be carried out between 6am and 10pm on Monday 18 and 7.30am and 7pm on the following two days.

A diversion will be in place via Hales Road, Stourbridge Road and High Street. Passengers who would normally get their bus from Stand B on Church Croft will be able to catch it at Stand C at Andrew Road during the three day closure.

Councillor Angus Adams, cabinet member for transportation said:

“We apologise to businesses, visitors and shoppers for the disruption while these works take place in the town.

“We would like to reassure people that all the partners are committed to keeping disruption to a minimum and we ask people to bear with us as we work together to build a better Halesowen.”

Vale Retail, Centro-WMPTA and Dudley Council are working together to deliver the £30 million regeneration, which will breathe new life into the town. The transformation includes a new Asda store, shop units, a Secure by Design multi-storey car park, a state-of-the-art £3.5 million bus station and a new road layout with improved pedestrian crossing facilities.  The 18 month project is due to be completed by Christmas 2008.
