A series of pub games at a Kingswinford museum are proving a hit with visitors.
The Ale and Hearty exhibition looks at beer glasses through the ages but also includes pub furniture, a beer barrel and pub games to give visitors an authentic bar experience.
Visitors can seat themselves at genuine pub tables to play games including dominoes, shove halfpenny, five-card cribbage and magnetic darts.
With authentic posters on the wall and beer bottles and glasses on display visitors are in for an atmospheric treat.
Councillor Charles Fraser Macnamara, cabinet member for leisure and culture said:
“The games have proved a real hit with visitors of all ages, from adults who remember them from their youth to children playing them for the first time”.
Ale and Hearty runs at Broadfield House Glass Museum, on Compton Drive, Kingswinford, until 2 March 2008. It is sponsored by local brewery, Batham’s of Brierley Hill.
The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 12noon to 4pm and admission is free. For more information contact the museum on 01384 812745 or visit www.glassmuseum.org.uk.
