Dudley Council’s NVQ assessment centre scored top marks during a recent visit by their external verifier.
The assessment centre, based at Parkes Hall is run by Dudley Council. It offers high quality work-related training for council employees and staff from the private and independent health and social care sector to ensure they are fully trained and confident to carry out their role in providing high quality care services to local people.
Following a recent visit to the centre by the external verifier, the centre scored high A’s in each area of the inspection, which included managing systems, resources, candidate support, assessment, internal verification, quality assurance, records and continuous improvement.
In the report the external verifier praised the centre for continuing to improve and develop in all areas of management, for keeping well documented minutes of meetings and always looking for new ways of working and making improvements to the centre.
The verifier was impressed with many aspects of the centre including the adult apprenticeship programme and the well thought out underpinning knowledge of courses.
Councillor Peter Miller, cabinet member for adult, community and housing services, said:
“This is a fantastic result for the centre and a great start to the New Year. The top scores are testament to the time and effort dedicated by staff to ensure Dudley provides top rate training within health and social care.”
Since the last visit in July 2007, the centre has increased its score from high B’s to a clean sweep of high A’s. It was identified that no actions needed to be addressed before the next external visit in August this year.
