People can discover more about Islam, try their hand at henna painting and see rare Islamic artefacts at an exhibition in Dudley next week.
The Mayor of Dudley is attending the opening of the Discover Islam One World event at Merry Hill on Monday.
There will also be a clothes corner, where people can try on clothes worn by different cultures, a display of coins and scientific instruments from the Islamic world, along with a resident artist and performances throughout the week from traditional nasheed singers.
Schools will also be visiting the exhibition to support their curriculum work in citizenship, religious studies, geography, science and history.
Also attending the launch is shadow junior communities and local government minister Paul Goodman MP.
Dudley Mayor, councillor David Stanley said:
“This exhibition is designed to educate and engage people and help them discover more about Islam.
“There will be plenty for visitors to get involved in, with henna painting, the chance to look at rare Islamic artefacts, coins and scientific instruments and also to hear the traditional nasheed singers.”
The exhibition is at the Fountain Square in Merry Hill from Monday January 21 to Sunday January 27.
