11 - Mayor urges people to splash out for charity

The Mayor of Dudley is urging people to get on board with a dedicated day of fundraising for lifeboat campaigners.

The RNLI has set aside January 25 as a fundraising day in a bid to generate vital funds.

Councillor David Stanley, the Mayor of Dudley, chose the RNLI as one of his charities for his year in office. The other Mayor’s charity is Dudley Alzheimer’s Society.

The Mayor is now urging everyone to splash out and help raise cash on the special RNLI SOS fundraising day.

Councillor David Stanley, Mayor of Dudley, said:

“This is a charity that I think is very important and very worthwhile, and that is why I chose it as one of my charities.

“I hope people will find the time on January 25, to help raise money to keep this vital emergency service afloat.”

The RNLI is offering free fundraising packs for the day, to give people lots of ideas to raise cash.
