Residents from across Dudley borough are being encouraged to have their say on local health and social care issues.
The council’s Select Committee on Health and Adult Social Care ( HASC) meets regularly at the Council House in Dudley to discuss and review the current operation of the NHS and adult social care within Dudley.
Dudley Council has the power to review and scrutinise the work of the NHS within Dudley. This happens via the Select Committee (HASC) where local councillors, council officers, together with members of the public are able to look at current issues and can make recommendations about how services might be improved. The committee also looks at adult social care issues within the borough, as well as plans that the council has to improve the health of Dudley people.
The council is keen for the committee to reflect the views of local people and is encouraging people to attend the meetings throughout this year. The first one will be held this Thursday (17 January).
Councillor Susan Ridney, Chairman of the Select Committee (HASC) said:
“This is a great opportunity for the people from across the Dudley borough to get involved in the health scrutiny of our local services. We really need people views and experiences from the health and adult social care sectors to help both improve services and to shape them for the future.
This really does represent people’s opportunity to have their say.”
The first Select Committee (HASC) of 2008 takes place this Thursday (17 January) at Dudley’s Council House, Committee Room 2, starting at 6pm.
