21 - Sheltered housing in Halesowen

More and more older people are discovering the benefits of sheltered housing and the independence and peace of mind it brings.

Dudley Council currently has vacancies for single people at their sheltered housing schemes in Halesowen. The flats at Holloway Court and Margaret Vine Court have kitchens, bathrooms with a toilet and wash basin and communal bathing and showering facilities.

The schemes include staff on hand 24 hours a day, a secure door entry system, laundry, gardens and a communal lounge where a range of social activities take place.

Tenants at the schemes have access to care support if needed and as required.
Prior to anyone moving into any of Dudley’s sheltered housing schemes applicants are given an individual assessment and services are provided accordingly.

Councillor Peter Miller, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, said:

“Everyone wants to feel safe and secure in their own home, especially as they get older. Our dedicated team of care professionals works with tenants to ensure appropriate care packages are tailored to the needs of the individual. At the same time our tenants live in a self-contained flat with their own kitchen and bathroom and their own front door but with the benefit of the communal facilities and with the reassurance that help is on hand when it is needed.”
