The streets of Sedgley will be filled with fun at this year’s St George’s Day celebrations.
The town will host this year’s event to mark England’s patron saint on April 26.
There will be a spectacular parade through the streets of the town, as well as music, dancing, street entertainments, drama and children’s rides.
Colourful bunting will decorate the bustling streets as the whole community is invited to celebrate the special festival.
Councillor David Caunt, leader of Dudley Council, said:
“As a local councillor I am extremely happy that we have been able to attract this annual festival to Sedgley.
“The St George’s Day parade is one of the most popular and entertaining events of the year, and this year promises to be even bigger and better than ever.
“We hope that residents, shoppers, shopkeepers and people from across the borough will come along to Sedgley and join in the fun on the day.”
This year’s celebrations will follow successful parades in Halesowen, Dudley and Stourbridge over the past three years.
It will include several road closures throughout the town, but the exact route is still being planned.
The festivities will be discussed at the North Dudley area committee on January 30, at Lower Gornal Youth Academy, in Temple Street, from 6.30pm.
Members of the public are invited to the meeting to hear the exciting proposals for this year’s parade.
Letters have also been sent out to traders outlining the proposals.
