12 - Local access forum

Residents are being urged to have their say on outdoor spaces across the borough by taking part in the borough’s Local Access Forum.

The forum, which is appointed by Dudley Council, is looking for volunteers who have a passionate interest in the outdoors and preservation of public access to open spaces across the borough.

Established in 2003, the forum has amassed a great deal of experience but is looking for the new members to represent a range of interests and is looking for representation for all the area committees.

Applicants could be landowners, perhaps with Rights of Way crossing their land, representatives of groups who regularly use green spaces (such as walkers, horse riders or cyclists) or people interested in the conservation of the wildlife, geology or heritage of the borough.

Councillor David Stanley, cabinet member for culture and environment, said:

“The Local Access Forum gives local people a real opportunity to be involved in looking after their local space.

”I would urge anyone with an interest in outdoor spaces, wildlife, geology and or heritage of the borough to take part.”
Closing date for applications is Sunday 14 February.  For an information pack and application form call 01384 816990 or email cynthia.botfield@dudley.gov.uk
