Dudley students are getting ready to step into the limelight in their new production Little Shop of Horrors.
Year 10 students from Kingswinford, Summerhill, Wordsley and Crestwood high schools will star in the quirky musical Little Shop of Horrors at Brierley Hill Civic Hall this weekend (July 18 and 19).
The students who are all studying for a BTEC in Performing Arts tell the story of Seymore Krelborn, a nerdy florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human blood. As the plant grows, Seymore discovers fame, fortune, and the girl of his dreams Audrey, but also has to cope with the plant’s blood thirsty desires.
Councillor Liz Walker, cabinet member for children’s services said:
“The students from the West Dudley Consortium have all worked so hard and have shown real teamwork and enthusiasm. I wish them all the best of luck for the performances.”
Evening and matinee performances of Little Shop of Horrors are available at 7pm at 2.30pm. Tickets cost £8 with concessions £6 and are on sale from the box office on 01384 812812.
