A new health report for Dudley which covers topics such aschildhood obesity and binge drinking will be launched ahead of Monday night’s meeting of the full council.
Valerie Little, Dudley’s director of public health will present copies of the annual report for 2007 to borough councillors before the meeting at Dudley Council House.
Members will be given the opportunity to drop in and pick up their own copies of the report before the council meeting starts.
The report entitled, ASense of Place – An Atlas for Health in Dudley, is a new departure in public health annual reporting in Dudley. It takes the form of borough maps depicting different aspects of health experiences from data taken during 2007.
It’s designed to make links between urban planning and health and covers areas such as childhood obesity, play areas, adult exercise and binge drinking.
Councillor David Caunt, leader of Dudley Council, said:
“I’m sure the report will be very interesting. It is designed to develop an understanding of Dudley as a place and help improve the health of all people living and working here.”
Valerie Little, director of public health, said:
“I hope as many councillors as possible will take the opportunity to come and share any health related issues with us and pick up their copy of the report.”
