14 - Cash boost for theatre group

side by side

A Stourbridge theatre group is celebrating after receiving a council cash boost.

Members of the Side By Side Theatre Company were presented with £450 from the council’s annual small grants scheme on Monday (JULY14).

The group has just completed a production of The Bird and is planning to spend the money on running costs.

Councillor Peter Miller, cabinet member for cabinet member for adult and community services, said:

“The Side by Side Theatre Company is just one of the thriving community groups we have in the borough.

“I am delighted to be able to present this money and I hope it will help encourage more people to get involved.”

More than 90 groups across the borough shared a slice of the £46,200 handed out this year.

The Dudley Council scheme aims to provide groups of people across the borough with vital cash injections for new facilities and projects or to help with running costs.
